Questionnaire

As part of my primary research I have created and distributed a questionnaire. It will be distributed in the Liverpool area in order to gain maximum feedback tailored towards my targeted demographic. The objection for this questionnaire is to gather key information about readership, including popular features from existing newspapers. The result of this feedback will enable me to identify a possible gap in the market as well as implement successful existing features from a various range of newspapers in my own newspaper.

Research and Planning

Research and Planning

The following paragraphs will outline my schedule in order for research. However it will not include dates but it is my template for working which will be divided into various sections including primary and secondary research.

Primary research will include questionnaires to determine popular features from existing newspapers in which I will implement in my own. Also I will arrange focus groups and personal interviews with members of my target demographic in order to gain more detailed feedback. Once I received all my feedback I will then include them on my blog.

Secondary research will include various tasks such as researching into existing local newspapers such as the Liverpool Echo in order to find established codes and conventions of the newspaper genre. I have choice local newspapers to analyze as it is the same as my newspaper , therefore the stories and features included will be similar to mine.

When I have completed the above tasks I will begin my design and draft stage in which I will produce basic idea’s for my newspaper including layouts, features and designs.

Target Audience

My target demographic would be the 20 to 30 age range. The regional area my magazine would be covering would be Liverpool and Merseyside. The newspaper would include key issues in society which affect the Liverpool/Merseyside area alongside sport and a small section on world news. The effect of this would determine my potential audience which would be predominantly Liverpudlians of both male and female genders.
